Arlene King-Berry, J.D., M.Ed., is a Professor of Special Education at the University of the District of Columbia, where she serves as Chair of the Faculty Senate and Secretary of the Friends of the FDR Memorial. She earned her J.D. in Disability Law from the Antioch School of Law, an M.Ed. and B.S. in Special Education from Howard and Cheyney Universities, and an A.A. in Mortuary Science from UDC. She also completed post-graduate study at Harvard University, The George Washington University, Trinity University, and the Washington School of Psychiatry.
A respected scholar and advocate, Dr. King-Berry’s leadership in disability rights, faculty governance, and research on food insecurity and student achievement continues to advance excellence and opportunity in higher education.
